That's probably why I stayed up past midnight last night watching Pride & Prejudice...then popping in another version of it to compare the endings...um...yes.

I just don't think it's possible to beat A&E, but the new one with Keira has grown on me. Not so much for Keira, but Matthew McFadyen gives a slightly different interpretation of Mr. Darcy that I like. A&E is obviously much more true to the book, but for pure entertainment...I think they're just different.

Yeah...I know. If I have to pick, it's A&E. But the other has its merits. Like I said, they're just different.
Congrats on the job! I would have to be wary of working anywhere I shop...I'd spend enough of the paycheck to wonder if it was worth the work. Posts: 5737 | Registered: Oct 2004

A&E has Colin Firth in it and that is what makes it so watchable for me. I didn't really care for the looks of the other Mr Darcey so I never saw the movie.

It depends. I thought so too, but he looks so different from scene to scene that it's hard to make a comparison...

This is another one of those threads that's never going to end, isn't it? No wonder poor DWR VI is dwindling! Shame on you all for posting here and not in the Fortress-- to help us get to 5k words-- or in poor neglected DWR VI! Posts: 1389 | Registered: Jan 2006

Eww, are we talking about that nasty sugar test?
I read somewhere that eating a handful of jelly beans (don't remember the number) had the same effect as the sugar drink. I would've preferred that! But imagine eating all those jelly beans and then not being allowed to have any water. Hmm ... maybe not.

Yeah, they didn't offer a choice, but the orange wasn't that bad. And they did say I could drink sips of water afterward.

Did you get a nice person to draw your blood? I hate it when I don't get a very skilled person to draw my blood. I don't like people digging around in my arm with a needle for some odd reason.

I don't let them dig in my arm. My veins roll easily and are paper-thin. I make them draw from my hand, where I know the veins will behave.

I swore up and down that I would not expose my children to tv because it is soo bad for thier little minds. Then I had kids. I actually secretly enjoy watching Teletubbies and Sesame Street. We don't have the good cable so I am not tempted by any of the more popular kids shows.
