quote: The deputy director of Idaho’s State Liquor Division says that a new vodka called ‘Five Wives’ is offensive, without specifying to whom. In a letter, Howard Wasserstein calls it “offensive to a prominent segment of our population.” He thus has forbidden its sale in state-owned stores.
Do Mormons really care what a vodka is named? Would the majority of Mormons even know if the state liquor stores carried it? More importantly, if we (Mormons) don't see it in the store, does it really exist?

The discussion on the Facebook page for our local news station showed 3 things regarding this story:
1. Mormons don't care. 2. People want/expect Mormons to care more than they do. 3. More people dislike Mormons more than I realized.

If I had a nickel for every time some drunk was being all loud about something because he though it would tick someone off, and nobody cared...

Jen, I agree, and add #4: it's getting nastier all the time. To OP, I roll my eyes. I remember hearing about Polygamy Porter in college, and laughing. I thought the slogan clever and effective. And now there's a vodka, too? I find them funny, and I've got some of the thinnest skin around. Offensive? Please. Look around for extra dirt, that molehill's going to disappear under it.

I looked up this story in the Idaho Statesman and after reading some of the comments, decided the only thing offensive is the people who are offended because they think Mormons are offended.

The article says that it was the women 'screeners' who were offended - partly because of the history behind the picture used on the label. So why does the headline imply it was offensive to Mormons?
