Yesterday I was just feeling really out of it. I didn't want to be at work, I was grouchy, I was irritable. And I couldn't get the thought of going to the Temple out of my head.
I didn't make an appointment, I just got dressed up, grabbed my temple bag and went. I missed the train I wanted to take, got to NYC in the midst of rush hour traffic (which means you feel like a fish swimming upstream in the mass of humanity leaving the city) and made it to the Temple like 5 minutes before the endowment session started. Now I probably should have waited the 90 minutes for the next one, but I made it in.
The contrast between the rush and the peace was amazing. No one I knew was there, but I felt so in tune with everything and so peaceful, even after coming back out in to the world again.
The blessings of having and attending the Temple are amazing. Go today, go often.

Thanks for posting this. I will be endowed soon and I appreciate you sharing your positive and uplifting experience. It brings me peace.
For those that are married, do you always go to the temple with your spouse? I have an easier schedule than my husband does and I pass the Jordan River Temple on my way to and from work each day. It would be very easy for me to attend a session once or twice a week this summer while my children are out of school. My husband and I will probably only be able to go together once a month. Is it okay for me to go alone or am I supposed to go with him each time?

My husband isn't endowed yet so I go alone. Go with your spouse when you can, but don't deny yourself the opportunity to go by yourself if he can't.
The Temple is such a great place to refill yourself and prepare to face the world. I haven't been going very long, but it's already changed me a lot (for the better).

Tehoa, Go with a friend, go by yourself, go whenever you can. You don't need to have a husband with you -- you don't even need to have a husband. Just GO!

I am taking the day off work tomorrow to attend the Temple, it is a holiday weekend and my son has some friends from America over so we will be doing teenage stuff over the weekend, so tomorrow I will find my peace in the Temple.
I went to the New York Temple last December, and despite the hustle and the bustle of the city, you can go inside and leave it all behind you, it is one of my favourite Temples, and the colour scheme leaves one feeling very tranquil.

Anyone live near the Reno temple that can give me a head's up on the schedule and how hard it is to get an appointment? I'll be flying into Reno next month and maybe I can slip to the Temple there for a few hours before heading into the wilds of Northern California. (Except I'll be with my non-member Dad, so do they have a really early morning day?)
We haven't set the flights yet, but may spend first/last night in Reno, rest of the time in Indian Valley area (any one know a good place to stay there or the local meeting house times near Greenville?)

That's why I asked, no specific times are given. I'll call them once things are a little less up in the air. I also looked up Greenville and there is a branch in town.

I find it a lot easier to go alone than with DH. He can go before work easily. I can go during the school. We do like to go together sometimes, but it's not necessary. I like to go alone a lot just because I never feel like I have to talk with someone. I can just talk to Heavenly Father.
