Dyany, I went to the Porch first & read Jana's post there, & she almost gave me a heart attack. But after reading on, I could see that hearty congratulations are in order for those fine young people.

I went back and supplied a few extra words...I am torn between delirium and dismay at the wrong impressions- I am sorry....
Speaking of torn. David has already found new quarters about 6km from school and close to everything else. The commute is about two hours each way so this is a good thing. But I though it would happen in about two months. He took off early this morning intent on signing the contract with furniture already to install.
things are changing a little fast for me today.

If anyone can spare a moment, I'd like to ask you say a quick prayer for my niece, Isabella. She's nine. She's suffering from debilitating migraines and the docs cannot seem to find anything inherently wrong that could be causing them. (She has an appt with a neurologist but that is over a month away ... and she got severely ill again last night and had to go to the ER). So, if you have a sec, please drop a quick prayer for her. (I know the power of prayer is strong).

Migraines are horrible enough for adults. For a nine-year-old, I can't imagine. Prayers coming from my corner of the world.

LoReilly, I feel for your niece. I've been getting migraines since I was four. In my case, the cause is a genetic collagen defect, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which wasn't diagnosed until I was 18. I hope your niece gets good answers much sooner.
Prayers will be said.

My niece, Bella, seems to be doing much better. She's had several days (almost a week) without a major migraine attack. Thank you so much for your prayers, they're helping. Now we're waiting for her neurologist appt to see what types of tests they'll want to run.

Just a brief note to ask for prayers for those in Colorado and anywhere else who are facing natural disasters. Our sister, Sally DeFord , is among those evacuated. She sounds so calm and serene. I admire her grace under fire...but she and her family are safe.

LoReilly, Thanks for the update. Hopefully things will continue to get better for her.
Jana, I add my prayers, too, for altruistic and selfish reasons. I have roots near the Air Force Academy, and the news keeps me rather nervous. Houses near where my sister used to live are gone.
ETA: The latest evacuation map goes right up to the off ramp I'd take to get home.

CrowBaby needs prayers. For nearly two weeks now, something has been wrong. Something's going around, and she accidentally ate something she was allergic to. We're out of her regular allergy meds, and the allergy medicine available to her here is not working. The Imodium is not working. BRAT diet is not working. I've done all this under the advice of a nurse, and can't get her in to see a doctor until tomorrow.
We as her parents need prayers, too, to know what we can do. Please.

It sounds like crowbaby has diahrrea, which I'm not sure I've ever managed to spell correctly. When I have that and nothing else works, I drink some strong tea. As in, perhaps a tablespoon of loose leaves in 1/3 cup of hot water, steeped for five to ten minutes. Then drink.
I don't know if that would be good for a baby or not, so you might want to ask your nurse about it.

Than you for the prayers, all. No change in her. Doctor thinks it's something viral that just hasn't let go, and to keep what I'm doing, and give it another week. Please keep praying if you can.

I had to look that up--not yet. If it hasn't cleared up Monday, I'll ask them to. Since she hasn't had a fever, they don't think it's parasitic or bacterial. I trust this doctor, so I'll give her advice a chance.
She got a blessing this evening. I hope we'll see improvement soon.
No change. I'm pretty sure it is because of an allergic reaction. Her medication has been special-ordered, but will not arrive here for four weeks. We do have an appointment with an allergist in two days, so I'm still trying.

I'd like to ask if you all could keep my family and me in your prayers. I'm going to have surgery in a few hours where the doctor is going to cut into my skull and remove cancerous tumors that are pressing on my brain. It sounds so gruesome, and I'll look like Frankenstein for a bit, but the neurosurgeon is the best there is, and even LDS! I'm supposed to be sleeping right now, but in an hour and a half I have to get up to go to the hospital, and I have heartburn and can't take anything for it since I'm not supposed to eat or drink anything! Any and all prayers would be appreciated. My kids are very nervous.

yes Raro, will do. I don't feel right just praying since we live so close. Keep us posted- I know my work stuff has prevented the idea of going to the temple during the day. But at an appropriate time I do hope to visit or do something to help you.

Aw, Raro, that does sound awful. I'm not at all surprised your kids are scared. I'd give them huge hugs if I could. You'll get prayers from here, too.

Prayers from Scotland too, Raro. They work; Alex has gone from the threat of losing his leg above the knee to a phased return to work. If we all pray, I know that the Lord will bless Raro. Good luck with the surgery.

Raro, prayers for you to have a smooth recovery & regain your full health, & prayers that you & your family will have peace & comfort. Prayers also going forth for others having challenges. The Oakland Temple is closed the rest of July, but I will be in either Reno or Sacramento in the next week or two & plan to go to the temple. I will put our Nauvoo neighbors on the prayer roll then.

Raro, I missed this when it was first posted. I am adding you to my almost continual prayers, and know they'll be retroactive. Bless you and your family, dear friend.
Jana, they drew blood to test her for celiac, amongst other things. We might have to fly to England to see a specialist. Please keep praying, but Raro needs them first.
Scruffydog, what marvelous news about Alex. Thank you for the update.

Update on Bella: they took her to a neurologist on Wed. I heard from my SIL that they changed Bell's meds and are wanting to do asleep study on her to see if she might have apnea and if that's aggrievating all that's going on.

Hopefully we will hear from Raro soon- I have her phone number somewhere, I need to look for it.
Meanwhile here is someone else to keep in prayers. The mom in the story (lives in Oregon) is the cousin of a sister in my ward (in VA)- basically 3 of 5 children have serious heart challenges- one has received a transplant, one is currently on a mechanical heart until a heart is available. And another youngster recently had an internal pacemaker. I think but am not certain the other two children might also face similar probs. Anyway today the sis in my ward posted the following links on our unofficial ward email list so people can pray for this family. There is also a way to donate if one wishes. Seems like a family most deserving of prayers, here are the links that you might like to view:

I emailed Raro to see how she was and to let her know we're still praying for her and love her. She gave me permission to let y'all know how she is.
quote: Well, the surgery went okay, but 2 days later I woke up standing half out of my bed and my bedroom was full of EMTs telling me I had had a seizure. My son felt me thrashing around and turned on the light and I was unresponsive, so he called 911. I spent last night in the hospital.Kind of freaky, but I think I'll be okay. I'm going out to Idaho to visit my kids tomorrow, so I intend to pamper myself and relax and take it easy! Thanks for your prayers - it's good to know that people care.
Sounds to me like continued prayers are in order.
Nita, that family of yours certainly has its share of challenges! Prayers for them, too.
By the way, I'd like to add that I LOVE this prayer list. It's so nice to know that so many people are more than willing to pray for the welfare of others. It's heartwarming. Thank you all for your care and concern of others. Posts: 4447 | Registered: Apr 2003

Quid thanks for the update..and poor Raro w/the seizure but I'm glad it wasn't worse. I hope they don't reoccur. That will be a trial for her too- I believe it is a standard that for 6 months of no driving in VA after a seizure. We have a sis in our ward that recently underwent similar surgery on her brain and had a seizure as well. We can hope and pray Raro will get good support from her ward family in the months ahead..

Thank you for letting us know, Quid. We'll all keep Raro in our prayers.
Prayers also going forth for the family Nita told us about. They are going to need plenty of divine assistance.
