Have you heard of how the new Superman movie has become a victim of political correctness? A friend of mine saw it, and he said they changed the well-known motto: For Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Now Superman says, "For Truth, Justice, and all things good." Perry White asks "Does he still stand for Truth, Justice...and all that stuff?" Mostly because he's in a hurry and spitting out story ideas as fast as he can at a staff meeting. I noticed the omission, but I didn't think it was all that big an intrusion.

I think a bigger issue is how they symbolically portray Superman as the Savior.
Though I must admit that I didn't catch the, "All things good clause." I only heard Perry White ask, "Does he still stand for truth, justice?"

Well, I guess I'll just have to see it for myself. Any way, the guy who plays Superman looks like a good actor, from what I've seen on the trailers.

I was never one who cared whether Superman was "American", or just a Good Guy, so the omission of "... the American way" didn't bother me one bit. I enjoyed the movie.
It's one of those that I thoroughly enjoyed at the theater, but then started to see holes in after a couple days' thought about it. But I'd still go to see it again, because it's really enjoyable. Superman's good. He's so Christopher Reeve it's almost funny. And Lex Luthor is fantastic - just what he should be. Lois is pretty, but I miss the old spitfire Lois.
SPOILER:
I really enjoyed the way they portrayed her quandry, and the portrayal of her new man. They could've made him a jerk, or a wimp. But would Lois fall for a jerk or a wimp? So. He had to be a "hero" in his own right. Very well done.

I liked it too. Granted there were a few things that don't transition well from Superman II, but it's been a long time. I think Luthor was the best 1-dimensional version I've ever seen. (I'm still partial to Smallville, so...)
There was blatant 'savior' imagery and overt references, but...I kinda liked it. And I want to see it again sometime, so. That's my synopsis.
ETA: And I agree with Jenna--Marsden was terrific as the other guy.
