Today my wonderful fiance was given the Melchizedek Priesthood and ordained to the office of Elder. He was baptized in January, and we are getting married in July. While we were in with the bishopric and the stake president, the SP told us that since he is a convert and since we are getting married less than a year after his baptism, we do not have to wait one year from the date of our civil marriage to be sealed. We can be sealed one year from the date of his confirmation, or as soon after that as he is ready to receive his endowment. This means that we can be sealed 5 months earlier than we thought! I am so excited about that.
I grew up in the Church, and while I know that this is the right man for me and the right time for us to be married, it's been a little rough for me to come to terms with the fact that I'm not getting married in the temple. Knowing that we can be sealed sooner than we had thought is great news. Posts: 109 | Registered: Jun 2001
